The sixth annual ATX Television Festival will be held June 8-11 at, among other venues, the Alamo Ritz and the Stateside at the Paramount. The festival will include a Battlestar Galactica reunion, a Sons of Anarchy directors panel, a pilot showcase with The League’s Paul Scheer, a look back at Nickelodeon shows of the 1990s, a Suits script reading, a panel devoted to MTV’s reality TV shows, and a celebration of the shows by producer, writer and creator Linda Bloodworth Thomason with Evening Shade’s Burt Reynolds, Hearts Afire’s Billy Bob Thornton, and Designing Women’s Annie Potts in attendance, among others. There also will be screenings of episodes of such current shows The Americans, Fargo, Fear the Walking Dead, The Leftovers, Nashville, This Is Us, Younger, and the Austin-shot The Son. There also will be retrospective screenings of Alias, The Black Donnellys, The Comeback, The Middleman, Northern Exposure, and October Road and premieres of such upcoming shows as The Bold Type, Glow, The Guest Book, Loudermilk, Midnight Texas, Room 104, and Snowfall, the new John Singleton FX series that with open the ATX Television Festival on June 8. Will Ferrell--the Will Ferrell—will attend a retrospective screenings of Deadly Adoption, the Lifetime spoof thriller he made in 2015 with Kristen Wiig. And, on June 9, there will a community outdoor screening of two episodes of Parks and Recreation featuring Li’l Sebastian in attendance.
