"Three Headed Beast"
Written and directed by Fernando Andrés and Tyler Rugh, the Austin-shot Three Headed Beast offers a deeply personal exploration of ethical non-monogamy inspired by Andres’ own experiences. Dialogue-free for its first half and for much of its second half, Three Headed Beast focuses on the emotional and psychological benefits and complications of one Austin couple’s open relationship. Nina enjoys the freedom she has to sleep with other men and women, but she begins to experience conflicted feelings when her partner Peter strikes up an intimate relationship with another man, Alex. Three Headed Beast stars Dani Hurtado as Nina, Jacob Schatz as Peter, and Cody Shook as Alex. Three Headed Beast will screen at 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Galaxy Theatres Austin during the All Genders, Lifestyles, and Identities Film Festival’s Prism 35 and will be available to stream Aug. 29 through Sept. 5 during the All Genders, Lifestyles, and Identities Film Festival’s Prism 35 virtual event. Three Headed Beast represents the feature film directorial debut of Austinites Fernando Andrés and Tyler Rugh, whose middle school friendship has led to a decade of collaborating on numerous short films.
