RTX Animation Festival 2021
With RTX Austin delayed until 2022 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Austin-based Rooster Teeth will assemble its global community of fans for the second consecutive RTX at Home virtual event, which run July 8-17. In addition to panels devoted to Rooster Teeth’s comedy, podcast, and gaming programming, RTX at Home will feature the RTX Animation Festival from July 9-17. RTX at Home’s FIRST Night programming on July 8 includes previews of the new Red vs. Blue: Family Shatters series of machinimated shorts and the book-turned-animated series RWBY: Fairy Tales of Remnant. The RTX Animation Festival features panels devoted to such Rooster Teeth animated series as Red vs. Blue: Zero, RWBY, Neon Konbini, Death Battle, and Recreyo. The From Art to Story: Story Artists in Animation panel will include Dan Duncan, the supervising director of Rooster Teeth’s high-profile anime-style series gen:LOCK, which is currently in production for an anticipated 2022 second season premiere on HBO Max. The RTX Animation Festival will also feature a virtual cosplay contest and a live recording of the Rooster Teeth podcast The Ship-it Show hosted by voice artists Tara Strong and Greg Cipes.
