![]() Written and directed by Joe DeBoer and Kyle McConaghy, the thriller Dead Mail follows the investigation by U.S. postal workers into a bloody note dropped into a mailbox. The note is a desperate plea for help from Josh, a synthesizer engineer being held captive by the mysterious client who commissioned him to design a revolutionary synth patch. Josh’s note lands on the desk of Jasper, a dead letter office investigator with an unparalleled success rate of determining the origin of or the destination of mail deemed undeliverable. Jasper’s interest in Josh’s note, though, quickly attracts the wrong attention. Dead Mail stars Tomas Boykin as Jasper, Sterling Macer Jr. as Josh, and John Fleck as Josh’s abductor Trent. Dead Mail screens during the SXSW Film & TV Festival at 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. March 9 at the Violet Crown Cinema, at 8:45 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. March 11 at the Alamo South Lamar, and at 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. March 13 at the Alamo South Lamar.
