Interview:
Bryan Poyser,
writer/director,
"More Than Four Hours"
Two of the eight films in the Texas Filmmaker’s Showcase 2016 are by Austin directors: the comedy More Than Four Hours by and Bryan Poyser and the chiller Hit & Run by Jason Neulander. Curated by the Houston Film Commission, the annual Texas Filmmaker’s Showcase 2016 will be held 7 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Violet Crown Cinema. Bryan Poyser’s comedy More Than Four Hours finds an Algebra teacher dealing with complications of taking Viagra instead of Xanax before his first day of the new job. Bryan Poyser previously directed the feature films Dear Pillow, Lovers of Hate and Love & Air Sex. Love & Air Sex’s Zach Cregger plays the teacher in More Than Four Hours. Hit & Run is the first short film directed by Jason Neulander. In this chiller, a man believes he has run down a person while driving home at night. He and his sister return to the site of the accident but not find a body or any evidence of a hit and run. Things then take a decidedly Lovecraftian turn. Hit & Run director Jason Neulander founded and served or 15 years as the artistic director of the Salvage Vanguard. He also wrote, directed and produced The Intergalactic Nemesis. Jason Neulander joins Bryan Poyser during this interview.
