Interview:
Jake Johnson,
"Digging For Fire"
Director Joe Swanberg’s observational comedy Digging for Fire follows a weekend in the life of a married couple bored with their daily routines and consumed by their parental responsibilities. While house sitting for friends, Jake Johnson and Rosemarie DeWitt take a much-needed break from each other and their young son. After finding a gun and presumably a human bone on the property, Johnson distracts himself by digging up the backyard looking for more evidence of foul play. He also lets his hair down by partying with his pals. DeWitt spends her time shopping, socializing, and hanging with a restaurant owner played by Orlando Bloom. Johnson co-wrote Digging for Fire with his Drinking Buddies director Joe Swanberg. The film also reunites them with their Drinking Buddies cast members Anna Kendrick and Ron Livingston. The Digging for Fire cast also includes Sam Rockwell, Brie Larson, Jenny Slate, Chris Messina, Judith Light, and Sam Elliott. Digging for Fire is now playing in Austin. Jake Johnson is joined during this interview by Steve Berg, who plays one of Johnson’s buddies in Digging for Fire. Steve Berg has appeared in Uncle Kent 2 and episodes of Drunk History and Funny or Die Presents.
