"Fear the Walking Dead"
Fear the Walking Dead kicked off its 3rd season June 4 with the shocking death of one of its lead characters, Cliff Curtis’ Travis Manawa. The two-episode season premiere also introduced Dayton Callie’s Jeremiah Otto, a survivalist whose Broke Jaw Ranch in Mexico has insulated its residents from the horrors of the zombie apocalypse. There also is growing tension between Otto’s two sons, the sociopath Troy and the level-headed Jake (played by Daniel Sharman and Sam Underwood, respectively) over his decision to allow Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) and her daughter Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) to stay at the ranch. Meanwhile, Victor Strand (Colman Domingo) must flee the safety of a hotel when it is revealed he is not the doctor he claimed to be. Lights Camera Austin was among several outlets during the ATX TV Festival to chat with Fear the Walking Dead cast members Kim Dickens, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Colman Domingo and Dayton Callie, and executive producer Gale Anne Hurd and outgoing showrunner Dave Erickson. We first chatted with Alycia Debnam-Carey, Dayton Callie, and Gale Anne Hurd, and then Kim Dickens, Colman Domingo, and Dave Erickson.
