Want to know how to score a film? Perhaps even score a film directed by Richard Linklater? The Austin Music Video Festival—running Dec. 4-8 at various local venues—has you covered. Austin-based musician/composer Graham Reynolds will conduct a Film Score Masterclass on Dec. 6 during the festival at the Native Hostel and Bar & Kitchen. The festival opens Dec. 4 at the Alamo Ritz with the premiere of the short film 86'd and a live performance by Alan Palomo's Neon Indian. The festival also includes music video premieres, retrospective, and live performances by two Austin-based acts, visual artist Martin Sorne's SORNE and bluegrass quintet Whiskey Shivers. The festival also will feature a block of music videos by Kesha with her directors Brandon Bloch and Lagan Sebert in attendance. The festival includes multiple music video blocks—including one devoted to Austin artists—various parties.
