Interview:
Tyler Russell,
writer/director,
"Texas Cotton"
Something rotten is going down in the small city of LaCoste in thriller Texas Cotton, and it is up to the last honest cop in the Lone Star State to save the financially strapped San Antonio suburb from further ruin. Trolls 2’s George Hardy plays Sgt. Travis Delmore, a by-the-book lawman who inadvertently uncovers a plot to irrevocably harm LaCoste’s dwindling farming community. Written and directed by the Austin-based Tyler Russell, Texas Cotton’s eclectic cast includes The Sacrament’s Gene Jones as the town’s police chief, Tromeo and Juliet’s Tiffany Shepis as a police deputy, and two Walking Dead veterans, Jason Douglas as the town’s oily mayor and Lew Temple as Delmore’s prime suspect. Texas Cotton will screen 3:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at the Rollins Theatre and 9:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29 at the State Theatre during the Austin Film Festival. Tyler Russell previously directed 2016’s Here Comes Rusty.
