![]() Directed by Scott Leberecht, the documentary Spaz traces the life and career of The Abyss, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and Jurassic Park computer animation pioneer Steve "Spaz" Williams. Leberecht focuses on the loud, rebellious but diligent Williams' invaluable creative contribution to Hollywood's digital revolution, his rise and fall at George Lucas' Industrial Light & Magic, and his post-ILM personal and professional triumphs and difficulties. Spaz will screen during the SXSW Film Festival at 3:45 p.m. Monday, March 14 at the Alamo South Lamar, 12:15 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 15 at the Violet Crown, and 5:15 p.m. March 17 at the Alamo South Lamar. Spaz is also available for SXSW Film Festival registrants to stream online for 48 hours 9 a.m. March 15. Scott Leberecht, who knew Williams during their time together at ILM and served as the story board artist for Williams' 2006 Disney animated release The Wild, previously directed the narrated feature Midnight Son.
