The Austin Gay & Lesbian International Film Festival opens Sept. 7 with the British drama God’s Own Country and closes Sept. 10 with the music-driven drama Becks. Other highlights include the narrative competition features Apricot Groves, Extra Terrestres, Prom King, 2010, The Ring Thing, Saturday Church, and Walk for Me as well the documentary competition films ABU, Anatomy of a Male Ballet Dancer, The Lavender Scare, Susanne Bartsch: On Top, and Woman on Fire. Narrative features include After Louie, B&B, A Date for Mad Mary, The Feels, Hello Again, A Promise of Time Travel, Tom of Finland, Torrey Pines, and Something Like Summer. Documentary features include Chavela, Clambake, The Death and Life of Marsha P. Johnson, The Fabulous Allan Carr, No Dress Code Required, and Rebels on Pointe. Films with Austin ties include Brotherly Love, Discreet, Signature Move, and Trans Youth. There also will be retrospective and anniversary screenings of Coming Out, Greetings From Out Here, Maurice, and Wrangler: Anatomy of an Icon.
