"Fermin: Glorias del Tango"
Esquina Tango Cultural Society of Austin will screen Fermin: Glorias del Tango at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 24 at the Marchesa Hall & Theatre followed by a post-screening Q&A with director Oliver Kolker and a milonga and tango performance by Kolker and Michelle Lamb. There also will be tango workshops from Jan. 23 through Jan. 25 at the Marchesa Hall & Theatre. Set in Buenos Aires, Fermin: Glorias del Tango—aka Glories of Tango—focuses on the relationship between a psychiatrist and his patient, an 85-year-old man being treated for post post-traumatic stress disorder and depression. The psychiatrist realizes that the key to helping his patient is to understand his past, when he was a popular tango dancer in the 1940s.
