Noir City Austin
The second annual Noir City Austin film festival spotlights the work of noir writer Cornell Woolrich, whose books and short stories were adapted into the films Rear Window, Union City, Cloak & Dagger, Mrs. Winterbourne, and Original Sin. Noir City Austin will feature 11 thrillers based on Woolrich’s work, including Black Angel, Deadline at Dawn, The Window, and two restored films from Argentina, Never Open That Door and If I Die Before I Wake. A restored print of Ann Sheridan's 1950’s thriller Woman On the Run will open Noir City Austin, which will be held May 8-10 at the Alamo Drafthouse Ritz. Noir City Austin is hosted and co-produced by Eddie Muller, the founder and president of the Film Noir Foundation, which also runs the San Francisco Film Noir Festival.
