Created and produced by Karen Kocher, the Living Springs interactive documentary offers a web-based video tour of Barton Springs while recounting its history and importance to the City of Austin. The website includes videos devoted to the Edwards Aquifer, the swimmers who flock to the Barton Springs pool, the endangered Barton Springs salamanders that call the natural water spring its home, and the social activities and religious ceremonies that are held at Barton Springs. Twenty-seven of the 30 videos planned for Living Springs interactive documentary are available for viewing on the website, with four scheduled to be shown during a Full Moon Screening at 6:15 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Zilker Hillside Theater and Beverly Sheffield Education Center Porch. The Living Springs series also will screen 3:30 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday on KLRU-Q from Sept. 10-Oct. 2.
