Richard Linklater,
writer/director,
and the cast of
"Everybody Wants Some!!"
Austin director Richard Linklater follows up 2014’s Oscar-winning Boyhood with Everybody Wants Some!!, a 1980-set ensemble college baseball comedy in the rebellious spirit of his 1976-set high school classic Dazed & Confused. Set during the course of a weekend at the fictional Southeast Texas University, the Austin-shot Everybody Wants Some!! focuses on the bonding rituals between the seniors on the university’s baseball team and the freshmen hoping to make their mark during the upcoming season. The cast is headed by Glee’s Blake Jenner, Pretty Little Liar’s Ryan Guzman, and Austin’s very own Juston Street (pictured right with Richard Linklater), Glen Powell, Tanner Kalina and J. Quinton Johnson. Everybody Wants Some!! premiered at this year’s SXSW Film Festival. The Austin Film Society will screen Everybody Wants Some!! at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. March 26 at the Marchesa Hall & Theatre with Richard Linklater and cast members in attendance. Everybody Wants Some!! will open theatrically April 1 in Austin. Richard Linklater participated in a press conference during the SXSW Film Festival to discuss Everybody Wants Some!! He was joined by cast members Temple Baker, Austin Amilio, J. Quinton Johnson, Will Brittain, Juston Street, Tanner Kalina, Forrest Vickery, Wyatt Russell, Blake Jenner, Zoey Deutch, Glen Powell, Tyler Hoechlin and Ryan Guzman.
