![]() Julie Lunde Lillesæter’s documentary An Army of Women follows the 2018 class action lawsuit filed by attorneys Jennifer Ecklund and Elizabeth Myers on behalf of multiple area sexual assault survivors against the Austin Police Department and the Travis County District Attorney’s Office. The class action alleged a systemic failure to investigate and/or to prosecute sexual assault cases. Lillesæter’s chronicles the plaintiffs’ years-long legal fight, their setbacks, and their triumphs—including the separate settlements with both the City of Austin and Travis County District Attorney’s Office—while also offering in portraits in courage of several of the survivors seeking justice and fighting for institutional change. An Army of Women screens during the SXSW Film & TV Festival at 2 p.m. March 8 at the Zach Theatre, 2:45 p.m. March 12 at the Rollins Theatre at The Long Center, and 6 p.m. March 15 at the AFC Cinema.
