Interview:
Anna Margaret Hollyman,
writer/director/star,
"Maude"
A good babysitter is hard to find, as writer/director/star’s Anna Margaret Hollyman’s Maude proves. In this SXSW Film Festival short comedy that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, Hollyman’s babysitter Teeny finds herself enjoying some much-needed attention when she pretends to be mother of the infant child she is being paid to watch. Maude will screen during the SXSW Film Festival at 8:30 p.m. March 9 at the Vimeo Theater, 8 p.m. March 12 at the AFS Cinema, and 7:15 p.m. March 17 at the Zach Theatre as part of the Texas Shorts Competition program. Maude represents the directorial debut of Anna Margaret Hollyman, an Austin-based actress who starred in White Reindeer and appeared in The Color Wheel, Gayby, Mr. Roosevelt, and the Bob Byington-directed comedies Somebody Up There Likes Me and 7 Chinese Brothers. In addition to Maude, Anna Margaret Hollyman stars in two additional projects that will screen during this year’s SXSW Film Festival, Michael Tully’s chiller Don’t Leave Home and the pilot of the web series Cleansed.
