"Route One North"
A family affair in more ways than one, the road trip comedy Route One North stars Austin-based writer/director Isabelle Rose Farrell and her real-life sister Annie Farrell as siblings making the drive from Maryland to Maine to find the father who abandoned them as kids. Sixteen-year-old Bee (Annie Farrell) wants her father’s legal consent to marry her high-school sweetheart Griffin before he starts basic military training. Bee’s older sister Sarah (Isabelle Rose Farrell) agrees to drive Bee to Maine even as she grapples with her own major life decision. Route One North also stars the Farrell sisters’ real-life mother Michele Farrell in the dual roles of Bee and Sarah’s doomday prepper mother Janet and her materialistic twin sister Marsha. Route One North will screen at 5:15 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Church at Star Hill Ranch in Bee Cave during the Lake Travis Film Festival. Isabelle Rose Farrell, who moved in 2021 to Austin, makes her feature film directorial debut with Route One North after devoting much of her childhood to making short films with her younger sister Annie Farrell. Annie Farrell, who briefly lived in Austin before returning to her native New Jersey, makes her producing debut with Route One North.
