Interview:
Chris McInroy,
writer/director,
"Guts"
There are bad work days and then there are bad work days. In Austin-based writer/director Chris McInroy’s horror comedy Guts, office drone Horace’s chances to land a much-coveted promotion diminish by the hour. Unfortunately, Horace’s boss is wavering on the idea of promoting an otherwise loyal and productive employee for one reason: Horace’s guts are on display for all to see. While waiting for his boss’ decision, Brody runs afoul of Brody, a new employee who takes exception to Horace’s highly visible and bloody gastrointestinal tract. Guts stars Chris McInroy regular Kirk C. Johnson as Horace and Scare Package’s Jeremy King as Brody. Guts will screen at 10:35 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24 at the Alamo Drafthouse Mueller before Let the Wrong One In during Fantastic Fest. Austin-based writer/director Chris McInroy previously directed the Scare Package segment “One Time in the Woods” as well as the shorts We Summoned a Demon, Death Metal, and Bad Guy # 2.
