Interview:
Charlie McDowell, director,
"The One I Love"
In director Charlie McDowell’s observational comedy The One I Love, Mark Duplass and Elizabeth Moss pack their bags for a weekend getaway at an estate right of a romance novel. Their goal to work on their damaged marriage is quickly put aside when they make a discovery that could potentially help or further hurt their relationship. Former Austinite Mark Duplass directed Baghead, Cyrus, Jeff, Who Lives at Home, and The Do-Deca Pentathlon with his brother Jay. Their new sitcom, Togetherness, will premiere soon on HBO. Mark Duplass also appeared in Safety Not Guaranteed, Zero Dark Thirty, and Tammy, and can currently be seen in the new season of The League on FXX. Charlie McDowell makes his directorial debut with The One I Love. He is the son of Malcolm McDowell and Mary Steenburgen; his stepfather Ted Danson appears in The One I Love as the therapist who recommends Duplass and Moss take their weekend getaway. Duplass joins McDowell during this interview.
