"Trim Season"
A production by the Austin-based Paper Street Pictures, co-writer/director Ariel Vida’s chiller Trim Season finds a small group of seasonal cannabis farm workers at the mercy of a mysterious supernatural force. The financially strapped Emma (Bethlehem Million) hopes for a big payday when she joins other unemployed young people at the cannabis farm located in Northern California’s Emerald Triangle. But strange things start to happen even before Emma can trim her first marijuana buds. And it all traces back to Mona, the enigmatic owner of the farm who safeguards her own secret strain of cannabis with an iron fist. V’s Jane Badler stars as Mona. Trim Season opened June 7 in theaters. An experienced production designer, Ariel Vida made her directorial debut with the 2022 drug-fueled time travel thriller Vide Noir.
