The Cine Las Americas Virtual Showcase’s Hecho en Tejas Competition Program, which focuses on films shot and/or produced in Texas, includes three narrative shorts directed by Austin filmmakers: Sharon Arteaga’s When You Clean a Stranger’s Home; Maggie Burger’s Cleanse; and April M. Sánchez’sDelia’s Pozole. Directed by Sharon Arteaga, When You Clean a Stranger’s Home documents the Latinx work experience from the perspective of a grateful daughter. Directed by Maggie Burger, Cleanse chronicles the efforts of an energy healer to save a young woman from an unseen force of evil. Directed by April M. Sánchez, Delia’s Pozole finds a teenage vegan bonding with her grandfather over a shared love of Mexican cuisine. When You Clean a Stranger’s Home,Cleanse, and Delia’s Pozole will stream at 12 p.m. July 26 as part of The Cine Las Americas Virtual Showcase’s Hecho en Tejas Competition Program.
