Wim Wenders Retrospective Series
The Austin Film Society’s Wim Wenders retrospective series, “Portraits Along the Road,” kicks off 4 p.m. Jan. 3 at the Marchesa Hall & Theatre with The Goalie’s Anxiety at the Penalty Kick. The series continues through Feb. 28 with Alice in the Cities, Wrong Move, Kings of the Road, The American Friend, The State of Things, Paris, Texas, Tokyo-Ga, Wings of Desire, the director’s cut of Until the End of the World, and Buena Vista Social Club. The Austin Film Society also will turn devote the “Love is a Two Way Street” series to four collaborations between Julie Andrews and her husband, director Blake Edwards. The “Love is a Two Way Street” series kicks off 7:30 p.m. Jan. 7 with 10 at the Marchesa Hall & Theatre and continues with screenings of S.O.B., Victoria/Victoria, and The Man Who Loved Women.
