Paramount Summer Classic Film Series
Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, the Paramount Summer Classic Film Series opens May 22 with Casablanca and closes the weekend of Sept. 5 and 6 with Gone With the Wind. The series will feature 100 films in honor of the Paramount Theater’s 100th anniversary this fall. Special events include An Evening with Richard Linklater, featuring a screening of Me and Orson Welles; a screening of the newly restored 1919 silent film The Grim Game that stars Harry Houdini; a screening of director Robert Benton's The Late Show that’s presented by Iron and Wine’s Sam Beam; a 70mm mini festival; and sidebars devoted to Alfred Hitchcock, Woody Allen, the Coen Bros., female directors, romantic comedies, ensemble classics, blockbusters, film noir, musicals, and family films.
