Interview:
Tim League,
CEO, Drafthouse Films
Hollywood's summer popcorn season is upon us but that doesn't mean we will have to settle for junk food. The Austin-based film distributor Drafthouse Films will attempt to feed our hearts and minds this summer with a slate of thought-provoking thrillers, romances, and documentaries, beginning June 13 with the dark comedy Borgman. Upcoming releases through September include Nothing Bad Can Happen, Mood Indigo, The Dog, The Congress, and 20,000 Days on Earth. Founded in 2010 by Tim League as the distribution arm of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, Drafthouse Films has earned a reputation for releasing edgy independent films and reissuing cult favorites. Drafthouse Film also has made its presence felt during awards season, receiving a Best Foreign Language Film Oscar nomination for 2012's Bullhead and a Best Documentary Oscar nomination for The Acting of Killing.
