"Jackass" Week
Warning: Hyperreal Film Club’s Jackass Week features stunts performed either by professionals or under the supervision of professionals. Accordingly, do not attempt to recreate or react any stunt or activity shown onscreen—unless you are a member of the Hyperreal Film Club programming team. To celebrate the June 26 theatrical release of Jackass: Best and Last, the Hyperreal Film Club gets its Johnny Knoxville on with screenings of the first four films in the derring-do and derring-dumb franchise that originated with the 2000-2002 MTV series. Jackass screens June 22, Jackass Number Two screens June 23, Jackass 3D screens June 24, and Jackass Forever screens June 25. Each screening, which will start at 7:30 p.m. at the Hyperreal Week Club, will include a painful movie trivia segment based on a Jackass Forever skit. Hyperreal Film Club programmer Ziah Grace is planning some Jackass-inspired stunts, including devouring a spicy pepper and being thrown through a table by a local jiujutsu expert. Audience members can also volunteer to shave their heads on stage.
