How soon is too soon to believe your defense attorney is going to be just as responsible for putting you in prison as the prosecutor? In writer/director Nicholas D'Agostino’s Austin-shot found-footage mockumentary Justice: The Movie, murder suspect Kenneth Walker (Kieauwn Beck) immediately views his defense attorney Harry Franklin (D'Agostino) with suspicion despite Harry posting Kenneth’s bail. It’s not that Harry is too just eager to defend Kenneth—it’s that Harry appears not to know what he is doing. With a documentary crew chronicling his every legal maneuver, Harry sets out to prove he is not only fully commit to defending Kenneth but that Kenneth will be a free man when all is said and done. But things soon take a strange turn. Justice: The Movie stars writer/director Nicholas D'Agostino as Harry Franklin, Kieauwn Beck as Kenneth Walker, and Logan Dorne and Stewart Parker as the two-man documentary crew who capture on film Harry’s increasingly erratic behavior and Kenneth’s lingering doubts about Harry. Justice: The Movie, which uses footage shot by Logan Dorne, will screen at 8:30 p.m. Aug. 30 at Coldtowne Theater with producer Stewart Parker in attendance for a post-screening Q&A. Justice: The Movie star/writer/director Nicholas D'Agostino, who recently moved from Austin to New York, previously wrote and directed the 2023 comedy Practically Tropical, co-produced the 2025 buddy comedy Central and Remote, and produced the 2023 dramedies Floor Scrapers and Rick Beagle.
