Austin Asian American Film Festival
The 18th annual Austin Asian American Film Festival runs June 24-28 at the AFS Cinema. The festival opens June 24 with the mother-daughter dramedy Honeyjoon and closes June 28 with the Chinese drama Gloaming in Luomu. The documentary Traces of Home, about generational trauma, serves as the centerpiece film on June 26. The festival also includes the narrative features 100 Sunset, Before the Call, Filipiñana, and the horror double bill Ghost School and Lali; the documentary features TikTok Never Dies, The Gas Station Attendant, and Do You Love Me; and narrative, documentary, and Texas-focused shorts packages. The virtual reality short film experience In the Mist, paired with the short film Kiss, will be held 12 p.m.-9 p.m. June 26 and 27 at the Holiday Inn Midtown for festival attendees age 18+ .
