"Her House"
Co-written and directed by Will Lee and co-written and produced by the Austin-raised Ian Hedman, the intergeneration Fantastic Fest short Her House focuses on two challenged mother-daughter relationships. The first is between Helen (Gloria Gruber) and her daughter Gina (Taylor Joree Scorse), the second between Helen and her recently deceased mother Jane. During a visit to Jane’s house to sort through her belongings, Helen and Gina encounter a malevolent presence (played by Gloria Jan Gray) that further threatens their already fragile relationship. Her House screens before the found footage feature What Happened to Dorothy Bell? at 2:05 p.m. Sept. 22 and 5:20 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Alamo South Lamar during Fantastic Fest. Will Lee and Ian Hedman previously collaborated on the short films Feed and the 2022 Fantastic Fest selection Ringworms. The Austin-raised Hedman also has worked as a member of the art department for such films as Amsterdam, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and last year’s Fantastic Fest selection The Last Stop in Yuma County.
