![]() If you could receive treatment to remove, replace, or tweak a bad memory, would you—even if it cost you an essential part of yourself? In Austin-based writer/director Wes Ellis’ short sci-fi drama Neuro, a newlywed couple enroll in an experimental neurological procedure to save their marriage. But one half of the couple comes to the realization the experimental memory care treatment offered by Neuro may do more harm than good to their fragile relationship. Neuro stars The Love Witch’s Samantha Robinson as Julie and Austin filmmaker and music video director John Valley as Julie’s skeptical husband Peter. Neuro screens at 6:30 p.m. March 7 at the Hyatt Regency and at 11 a.m. March 10 at the Rollins Theatre at the Long Center as part of the SXSW Film & TV Festival’s Texas Short Program. Austin-based writer/director Wes Ellis makes his directorial debut with Neuro, which embraces late retro-futuristic aesthetics to tells its cautionary tale. Ellis began his career as a photographer before serving as an associate creative director at the Austin-based web, TV, film, and podcast production company Rooster Teeth.
