![]() Directed by Stuart Ortiz, the faux documentary Strange Harvest: Occult Murder in the Inland Empire chronicles the decades-long serial killing spree by a mysterious masked psychopath known only as Albert Shiny. Since the 1990s, Albert Shiny has terrorized the Southern California region through a series of ritualistic murders, with his victims ranging from the young and the old of all ages and backgrounds. Set in the early 2010s, this documentary-style supernatural chiller follows a group of homicide detectives out to uncover Albert Shiny’s true identity in order to stop his blood campaign that has intensified in recent weeks. Strange Harvest: Occult Murder in the Inland Empire screens at 11:50 p.m. Sept. 22 and 5:25 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Alamo South Lamar during Fantastic Fest. Stuart Ortiz co-wrote and co-directed the 2011 found footage horror yarn Grave Encounters with Colin Minihan as the directing duo The Vicious Brothers, co-wrote the 2012 sequel Grave Encounters 2, and co-wrote the 2014 sci-fi chiller Extraterrestrial.
