![]() Gentry Lee’s head is in the stars, and the world is all the better for this. Director Robert Stone’s Starman explores the life and career of the NASA engineer, sci-fi novelist, and public speaker. A tireless advocate for space exploration, the University of Texas alum worked on such NASA missions as Viking, Galileo, and the Mars Exploration Rovers and Orbiter programs. Lee also help develop Carl Sagan’s landmark 1980 miniseries Cosmos: A Personal Voyage and cowrote four books with Arthur C. Clarke, including three sequels to “Rendezvous with Rama.” Starman also focuses on Lee’s decades-long search for intelligent life beyond Earth. Starman screens during the SXSW Film & TV Festival at 5 p.m. March 8 at the Alamo South Lamar, 2:45 p.m. March 9 at the AFS Cinema, and 2:45 p.m. March 15 at the Alamo South Lamar.
