Interview:
Renny Harlin,
director,
"The Strangers - Chapter 3"
Bringing to a close the reboot trilogy directed by Renny Harlin, The Strangers – Chapter 3 picks up where last year’s sequel left off, with Madelaine Petsch’s final girl Maya in hiding after killing one of the three masked serial killers responsible for her boyfriend’s murder. In mourning for Pin-Up Girl, Scarecrow and Dollface capture Maya and force her to accompany them to the site of their next murder. But Scarecrow senses the same darkness in Maya that he possesses, and he plots to unleash the cold-blooded killer he believes lurks inside Maya. The Strangers – Chapter 3 also stars Gabriel Basso as Scarecrow, Richard Brake as the corrupt local Sheriff Howard Rotter, and Rachel Shenton as Maya’s sister Debbie Lucas, who finds more than she bargains for when she arrives in the small Oregon town in search of Maya. The Strangers – Chapter 3 is now in theaters. Renny Harlin’s horror films include Prison, A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, Exorcist: The Beginning, The Covenant, Devil’s Past, and Refuge. Other notable films directed by Harlin include Die Hard 2: Die Harder, Cliffhanger, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Deep Blue Sea, and 12 Rounds. He is currently working on two ocean-set survival thrillers, Deep Water and Black Tide, and recently reunited with Samuel L. Jackson for the upcoming action film The Beast. Aired: Feb. 11, 2026.
