Patrick Heaphy,
director,
"Charley Crockett: $10 Cowboy"
Directed by Patrick Heaphy, Charley Crockett: $10 Cowboy affords the San Benito-born, Austin-area country singer the opportunity to reflect on his Texas roots, his humble beginnings as a New York City subway busker, his slow but steady rise to fame and fortune, and his commitment to his personal and artistic values. The music film follows Crockett as he performs at some of his favorite Texas venues—including Austin’s Broken Spoke—to celebrate the release of his 12th album, 2024’s $10 Cowboy. Charley Crockett: $10 Cowboy will screen at 7 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Galaxy Theatres Austin and at 2 p.m. Pct. 27 at the Bullock Museum IMAX Theatre during the Austin Film Festival. Patrick Heaphy is a veteran director and producer of music-driven films, TV shows, and shorts. He has directed, among others, the PBS concert series Recorded Live at Analog Nashville, the PBS special The Making of Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska: A Celebration of Words and Music, and the short documentary Tupac Uncensored and Uncut: The Lost Prison Tapes.
