"Novocaine"
Directed by Dan Berk (right) and Robert Olsen (middle), the action comedy Novocaine stars Jack Quaid (left) as a man living with congenital insensitivity to pain. Nathan Caine’s condition means that he has to injury-proof his life—the assistant bank manager can’t even eat solid food without the fear of not knowing if he is biting through his tongue. Nathan’s dull existence is interrupted by a bank robbery followed by the thieves taking hostage Nathan’s fellow employee and main crush Sherry Margrave (Prey’s Amber Midthunder). Fearful of what may become of Sherry, Nathan decides it is time to turn his condition into his superpower to rescue the girl of his dreams. Even if it means enduring all manner of potentially life-threatening wounds and injuries. Novocaine opened March 14 in theaters. Jack Quaid, a cast member of The Boys, previously starred in Companion, Oppenheimer, Scream, Plus One, Rampage, and Logan Lucky. Dan Berk and Robert Olsen previously directed Significant Other, Villains, Stake Land II: The Stakelander, and Body.
