A 2-D rotoscoped/3-D animated gender-reversed Beauty and the Beauty, Austin-based animator Nidhi Reddy’s short Rajas & The Wolf Girl tells the unlikely romance between a young man and a traveling circus performer. The Wolf Girl lives a sad and lonely existence until she meets Rajas, who finds himself transformed into half-man/half-bird during a circus show gone wrong. Rajas & the Wolf Girl will screen at 4:50 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Alamo South Lamar as part of the Fantastic Fest shorts program Fantastic India. Austin-based filmmaker Nidhi Reddy previously directed the rotoscoped short The Yellow Wallpaper and served as an animator for the documentary Canine Soldiers.
