Interview:
Natasha Kermani,
writer/director,
"Abraham's Boys: A Dracula Story"
Adapted from the 2005 short story by Joe Hill, the Natasha Kermani-directed period horror film Abraham’s Boys: A Dracula Story serves as a sequel to Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel “Dracula.” Eighteen years after Dracula’s demise, vampire hunter and physician Abraham Van Helsing, his now-wife Mina Harker, and their children Max and Rudy live a quiet and lonely existence in the California Central Valley. Fearful that his past will one day catch up with him and his family, Van Helsing devotes much of his time instructing Max in the ways of vampire slaying. When the sickly Mina takes a turn for the worst, the initially dismissive Max is forced to re-contextualize his father’s warnings about creatures of the night as he prepares to protect himself and Rudy from an unknown threat. Abraham’s Boys: A Dracula Story stars Titus Welliver as Abraham Van Helsing, Jocelin Donahue as Mina, Brady Hepner as Max, and Judah Mackey as Rudy. Abraham's Boys: A Dracula Story is now available to stream on Shudder. Natasha Kermani previously directed Shattered, Imitation Girl, Lucky, and the V/H/S/85 segment “TKNOGD." She recently directed the upcoming historical chiller The Dreadful with Kit Harington and Sophie Turner.
