Most married couples try to keep their arguments to themselves. But Mor Cohen and Polaris Banks are not like most married couples. The Austin-based filmmakers mined their martial strive for And Her Body Was Never Found, a psychological thriller about a couple (played by Cohen and Banks) whose camping trip puts their relationship to one final and potentially fatal test. For six months, Keren and Jeff have been at each other’s throats. Everything reaches a boiling point during their mountainside getaway, when Keren comes to believe the gaslighting Jeff intends to kill her. And this is when And Her Body Was Never Found transitions from a traditional narrative feature to a found footage game of cat and mouse. Banks and Cohen shot the highly meta And Her Body Was Never Found by themselves with the exception of several scenes and an epilogue set months after the events in the film. And Her Body Was Never Found screens at 9:30 p.m. (tonight) March 18 at the Alamo South Lamar during the SXSW Film & TV Festival. Arlington-born Polaris Banks, who makes his feature directorial debut with And Her Body Was Never Found, previously directed the 2022 SXSW-selected short Reklaw. Israeli actress Mor Cohen, who co-wrote And Her Body Was Never Found, appeared in the 2025 thriller In a Cold Vein. Aired: March 18, 2026. Web site: https://schedule.sxsw.com/films/2241452 |
