"Dirty Angels"
![]() Directed by Martin Campbell, the Eva Green-led ensemble action thriller Dirty Angels finds a team of female soldiers tasked with rescuing several ISIS-kidnapped schoolgirls during the 2021 U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. For Green’s team leader Jake, the mission is personal. Months earlier, Jake was the sole survivor of the massacre of her unit at the hands of the ISIS mastermind responsible for the kidnapping. Posing as humanitarian medical care workers, Green and her team enter Afghanistan in search of the kidnap victims. But their mission is complicated by the conflict between ISIS and the Taliban. The ensemble cast includes The Apprentice’s Maria Bakalova, The Meg’s Ruby Rose, and Dogman’s Jojo T. Gibbs as members of Green’s team. Dirty Angels is now available for digital/on-demand viewing. In the early 1980s, Campbell made a name for himself directing the TV miniseries Reilly, Ace of Spies, starring Sam Neill, and the BAFTA Award-winning The Edge of Darkness. Campbell began his Hollywood career with the 1988 thriller Criminal Law. He soon earned a reputation as action specialist thanks to such films as Defenseless, No Escape, Vertical Limit, Green Lantern, The Foreigner, The Protégé, Memory, and his U.S. film adaptation of Edge of Darkness starring Mel Gibson. He also directed The Mask of Zorro and its sequel The Legend of Zorro.
