Interview:
Kurtis David Harder,
writer/director,
"Influencers"
Beware influencers, sociopathic identity thief CW is alive, well, and up to her old tricks. At the end of writer/director Kurtis David Harder’s 2022 psychological thriller Influencer, Cassandra Naud’s CW was left for dead in Thailand by one of her victims, Emily Tennant’s travel content creator Madison. In the sequel Influencers, CW has not only survived her ordeal but is hiding out in France under an assumed name and enjoying a seemingly healthy relationship with her girlfriend Diane (Lisa Delamar). But a run-in with another influencer, Charlotte (Georgina Campbell), forces CW to flee to Bali. Hot on CW’s trail is Madison, who wants to bring CW to justice for the murders she committed in Thailand. Influencers also stars Jonathan Whitesell as “manosphere streamer” Jacob and Veronica Long as his girlfriend, conservative influencer Ariana, both of whom make the mistake of crossing paths with CW in Bali. Influencers premiered Dec. 12 on Shudder and will screen at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Alamo South Lamar. Kurtis David Harder previously directed Influencer and Spiral, which both premiered locally at the now-defunct Other Worlds Film Festival, as well as Summerland, Incontrol, and Cody Fritz. He also produced Superhost, Z, and What Keeps You Alive.
