![]() There ain’t no party like your first college party. Or at least that’s what a group of University of Texas freshmen firmly believe in Party People, a Dazed and Confused-flavored ensemble comedy from UT alumni and L.A.-based married couple Joey LePage and Lindsey Robertson. Set during the course of a single day, Party People follows 15 UT students as they prepare for the first blowout of their freshman year. Some can’t wait to party even knowing their expectations for the evening may be too high; others let their nerves get the better of them and try to talk themselves out of attending. The ensemble cast includes Matthew Daddario, George Basil, Missy Malek, Luxy Banner, Gustavo Gomez, Liam Booth, and sing-songwriter Dale Watson. Party People screens at 7 p.m. Oct. 24 at the State Theatre and at 7:45 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Rollins Theatre at the Long Center during the Austin Film Festival. Party People represents the feature-length debut for director Joey LePage and screenwriter Lindsey Robertson, Austin-raised filmmakers who first met at UT before reconnecting post-graduation in New York. Aired: Oct. 23, 2024. Web sites: http://www.austinfilmfestival.com/ https://www.facebook.com/AustinFilmFestival |
