![]() Based on a traumatizing incident experienced by Austin-based filmmaker Jenny De La Fuente and her mother in 2020, the short drama Somewhere You Feel Free finds Martina enjoying a birthday visit to a state park with her mother Eve. But the celebration turn sour when they cross paths with several men in an isolated area of the park. Writer and producer Jenny De La Fuente stars as Martina; Elena Kent stars as Eve. Directed by Sarah Joy Byington, Somewhere You Feel Free will screen at 6 p.m. Saturday (May 17) at Austin PBS as part of the Cine Las Americas International Film Festival’s Hecho en Tejas Showcase. Austin-based actress and filmmaker Jenny De La Fuente previously starred in, wrote and directed the short film Hina and starred in and directed episodes of the upcoming web series New Me.
