Interview:
Chris Reading,
co-writer/director,
"Time Travel is Dangerous"
What would do if you stumbled across an abandoned time machine? Witness first-hand the most important moments in the history of humanity? Change the course of events for the better? Visit loved ones who are no longer with us? Perhaps, but if you are North London vintage store owners and BFFs Ruth and Megan, you go back in time to steal rare and valuable items to sell to your undiscerning clientele. In the British comedy Time Travel is Dangerous, though, Ruth and Megan's pilfering proves so damaging to the time-space continuum that they place the future of the present in jeopardy. Enter the Muswell Hill Science Club’s Technology, Engineering, Scientific Thought and Innovation Society .... Directed by Chris Reading, Time Travel is Dangerous stars Ruth Syratt and Megan Stevenson as fictional versions of themselves, with much of the film set and shoot in their ChaChaCha vintage store in the North London suburb of Muswell Hill . Syratt concocted the story with Reading, who wrote the script with Anna-Elizabeth Shakespeare and Hillary Shakespeare. Time Travel is Dangerous screens at 4:20 p.m. Oct. 26 and 6:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Galaxy Theatres Austin during the Austin Film Festival. Time Travel is Dangerous represents Chris Reading’s feature-length directorial debut. Ruth Syratt and Megan Stevenson previously worked on costumes and wardrobe for Reading's 2019 short Alien: Containment. Posted: Oct. 23, 2024.
