Co-written and directed by Austin-based filmmaker Chris McInroy, the horror comedy short Chair finds a man experiencing strange and unusual problems assembling a potentially possessed armchair. Chair star Carlos Larotta co-wrote the script with McInroy. Chair will screen at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 20 and 8 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Alamo South Lamar as part of Fantastic Fest’s Alums and Other Demons shorts program. Austin-based writer/director Chris McInroy previously directed last year's Fantastic Fest selection Skeeter, the Scare Package segment “One Time in the Woods,” and Guts, a 2023 FANGORIA Chainsaw Award nominee for Best Short. He also directed the shorts We Joined a Cult, We Forgot About the Zombies, We Summoned a Demon, Death Metal, and Bad Guy # 2.
