Interview:
Chad Hartigan,
director,
"The Threesome"
Directed by Chad Hartigan, the romantic comedy The Threesome focuses on the aftermath of a ménage à trois enjoyed by two platonic friends and the stranger (Ruby Cruz) they meet one fateful evening. Connor (Jonah Hauer-King) and Olivia (Zoey Deutch) have never acted on their mutual attraction despite having slept together once several years earlier. Enter Jenny (Ruby Cruz), who quickly finds herself enamored with both Connor and Olivia. One thing leads to another and the three end up together in bed. The sexual encounter prompts Connor and Olivia to start dating. Several weeks after the threesome, Olivia discovers she is pregnant. So does Ruby. Connor steps up as the expectant father to two unplanned babies, but trying to balance his time between both women comes at a significant cost. The Threesome, which received its world premiere at this year’s SXSW Film & TV Festival, opened Sept. 5 in theaters. Chad Hartigan previously directed Little Fish, the SXSW selection Morris from America, This is Martin Bonner, and Luke and Brie Are on a First Date. Aired: Sept. 3, 2025.
