Prism 38: aGLIFF’s Annual LGBTQ+ Film Festival runs Oct. 16 through Oct. 19 at the Galaxy Theaters Austin. The festival opens Oct. 16 with a 25th anniversary screening of the family comedy Sordid Lives and closes Oct. 19 with Other People’s Bodies, a reimaging of the 1969 French erotic drama La Piscine. Austin-based director Deborah S. Esquenazi’s criminal justice documentary Night in West Texas serves as the festival’s centerpiece film on Oct. 18. The festival’s program also includes the documentary Just Kids and the narrative features The Best Friend, Blowie, How Far Does the Dark Go? (directed by Prism 38 artistic director Bears Rebecca Fonté), Screams from the Tower, and Skinny Love. The festival also includes various shorts and music video packages.
