The Austin Film Society's May 2026 programming at the AFS Cinema is highlighted by the series The Maiku Hama Trilogy. Special screenings include Austin animator Don Hertzfeldt presenting his new short Paper Trail and previous work; the documentary Steal This Story, Please! with subject and "Democracy Now!" co-founder/co-anchor Amy Goodman and co-director Tia Lessin in attendance; and Joe Bob Briggs hosting Satan's Workshop: Two Secret Double Bills. New releases include Blue Heron, The Python Hunt, Two Women, and Austin native Ben McKenzie's documentary Everyone Is Lying to You for Money.
