![]() The Austin Film Society's July 2025 programming at the AFS Cinema is highlighted by three series: On Our Way to Where: Women of '70s Cinema Series, Nobuhiko Obayashi: Kadokawa Superstar, and Newly Restored Kurosawa. Special screenings include the double bill The Stuntman and Valerie and Her Week of Wonders at the Paramount Theatre on June 29; Everything is Terrible! Memory Hole: Animals are Over on July 1; and appearance by animator Bill Plympton on July 12 for his western Slide and Selected Plymptoons on July 13, featuring post-screening conversations with Austin-based animator Don Hertzfeld. New releases and festival favorites include Kill the Jockey, The Damned, Grand Tour, That They May Face the Rising Sun, Vulcanizadora, and the documentary Life After with director Reid Davenport in attendance. Repertory screenings include Crash, Dogtooth, For a Few Dollars More, The Girl Can't Help It, Heartworn Highways, A Man and a Woman, Pink Narcissus, the Queer Cinema: Lost & Found selection Sebastiane, and the Kingcast Live podcast screening of Silver Bullet with special guest Stephen Graham Jones.
