The Black Auteur Film Festival Showcase will be held at 3:30 p.m. June 21 at the AFS Cinema. The showcase features 11 Texas-made shorts by Black filmmakers—nine from Austin, one from Houston, and one from Dallas—followed by a post-screening QA and a network mixer. The festival will also host an after-party at 4 p.m. June 22 at Auntie’s House at The Pershing. In addition, the festival will co-present the Paramount Summer Classic Film Series Majestic Week LGBTQ+-themed double bill of Pariah and Rafiki beginning at 7 p.m. June 18 and the 35mm double bill of Friday and House Party beginning at 7 p.m. on July 11 . The Black Auteur Film Festival Showcase was co-founded in 2024 by filmmakers Alex Chew and Ryan Darbonne.
